Tala Pattachitra – Nature

Description

One of the most ancient forms of artwork found in Odisha, India.  The craft depicts Hindu mythological tales in all its glory. This type of artwork has a rustic appeal. ”As for the palm leaf engraving, this form of Pattachitra which is in the Odiya language and is known as Tala Pattachitra is drawn on palm leaf. The palm leaves are cut off and left to dry to give the artist a hard surface to work on. They are then stitched together and then the carvings follow. The artwork showcased here has a depiction of nature and the life that it supports.

Washing Instructions – Hand Wash only in cold water with mild detergent. Do not wring or bleach. Dry flat in shade.
